We invite to you to meet us for a life performance in Divadlo Na peróne in Košice, Slovakia.

The project Nohami na peróne searches for and documents songs that helped people survive times of oppression. Music as a refuge, language in metaphors, the memory of the body. An invitation to listen to voices that survived bans, exile, and forced silence.

Songs that helped people survive the hard times – under the supervision of the regime, patriarchy, prison bars, or exile. Melodies for which women were punished. Voices that speak in hints, rhythms, and metaphors when words are not enough or remain unheard. The authors went into the field: listening to women's stories, learning from village musicians, digging through family archives, old cassette tapes and photographs. Nohami na peróne is an invitation to listen to music that keeps the body and soul in motion – even in times when there is no dancing.
